THE face-off between Ogun State Governor, Otunba Olugbenga Daniel and members of the House of Assembly which had in the last few weeks heated up the polity has been settled following the intervention of the leaders of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).

Gov. Daniel and the legislators, led by the Speaker, Mr. Tunji Egbetokun, were said to have resolved their differences after a meeting on Monday in Abeokuta. The meeting was presided over by the Vice-Chairman of the party in the South-West, Alhaji Tajudeen Oladipo.

Briefing newsmen on the outcome of the meeting held at the Governor's Office, Alhaji Oladipo said: "The outcome of the meeting is that the governor, representing the Executive on the one side, and the Speaker and other members of the House of Assembly have agreed to sink their differences and work together for the progress of Ogun State.

"Let me emphasise that apart from being the Governor of Ogun State, he is the leader of PDP in the state and as such all honourable members believe in the leadership of the governor. I want to assure you that the face-off has been laid to rest finally. It would not raise its ugly face again."

Oladipo then warned that "the gubernatorial gladiators in the state should not distract the government from performing its laudable programmes.

"All litigations arising from the face-off should be withdrawn from court while the governor as the leader of PDP should continue the reconciliation efforts to bring all stakeholders together in Ogun State," the Vice-chairman counselled.

Oladipo then warned the opposition parties not to bring the Yoruba race backward by their attitude.
