The National Investments Company Ltd (Nicol) listed its 69,178,134 ordinary shares on the Dar es Salaam Stock Exchange (DSE) yesterday at Sh300 each.
It has become the 11th company to be listed on the bourse.
The Nicol listing will provide an additional avenue for Tanzanians to invest.
Nicol board chairman Felix Mosha said the listing would help it expand operations and capital.
He hopes the company's balance sheet will grow in two years, basing on expanded operations and portfolio.
Although the Capital Markets and Securities Authority and DSE had been carrying out a public awareness campaign on share transactions, a lot should be done to enhance the awareness on equity investment in listed companies, he noted.
Meanwhile, the Dar es Salaam Stock Exchange (DSE) yesterday posted a turnover of Sh9.92 million from 6,236 shares in traded in 26 deals compared with the previous day's turnover of Sh24.27 million from 15,679 shares transacted in 38 deals.
Twiga transacted 3,109 shares at Sh1,460 each while TBL had 101 shares traded at Sh1,780 per share.
Simba had 3,002 shares transacted at Sh1,720.
At the end of the session Nicol had 11,200-shares on offer at Sh400 each.
The DSE share index was 1,078.41.
