Member of Parliament (MP) representing Constituency 102 has described the high rate of dropouts in his community as a trouble for the Kissy ferry terminal.

Eustace King said plans are on the way to help find all dropouts at the Ferry terminal so that they will be involved in something productive for their lives.

He said the United States Embassy has issued out forms to MPs to assist different constituencies in identifying problems affecting their community. "I have outlined all the needs of the community," he said adding that dropouts in the area will be given skill trainings that will help them become self-reliance.

Unopposed candidate in the July 5 local council elections, Mohamed Kargbo, of ward 365 in the constituency, said the MP's dream is positive as the issue of dropouts in the community must be treated with urgency. He said he will help in combating the problem.

Kadiatu Bangura a fish monger at the ferry terminal mini market said lots of idle youths are seen around the terminal. "I believe they must be given something to do rather than roaming around jobless," she said.

Bangura said the MP's plan, will help minimize the rate of armed robbery and petty theft in the community, if put to practice.
