Sierra Leone: LRP Workers Want Their Money

Kono — Workers at the Land Reclamation Project have asked the Ministry of Mineral Resources to pay them for work done during the implementation of the project in Tankoro, Gbense, Nimiyama and Niminkoro chiefdoms.

Project coordinator and youth leader of Tankoro chiefdom, Sahr J. Bundor said not a single official from the authority has come to their aid in addressing the problem despite their cry.

"We have made several complaints to the authorities concerned but we have still not seen any effort from them," he said.

Bundor expressed fear that the youths may go on rampage if their concerns are not arrested once and for all.

A worker, Mohamed Sesay said they may take the laws into their hands if their problems are not solved adding that this will create unrest for the people of Kono.
