Freetown — Administrative Secretary of Sierra Leone Football Association (SLFA), Abu Bakar Kabba aka Sweet Kay has urged football stakeholders to capitalize on the success of the national team, Leone Stars, ahead of Saturday's elective congress.
He said the forthcoming congress is very important for football in the country adding that the national team's success must be paramount to stakeholders so they must continue to work together as one for the good of the game.
"The camps and division in the country's football will not help us. It is not good for the development of the game. If Nahim Khadi or Dream Team wins, all must work together," he urged.
Commenting on the SLFA secretariat's preparation for the weekend's congress, Kabba said they (at the Secretariat) are set to stage the congress this week.
"We've done the distribution of documents to the delegates and all modalities have been put in place. It will be a slap on our face if we come back and say the congress is not going to take place," he said and justified the early postponement of the congress.
Kabba explained that the congress is not only for stakeholders to cast their vote but to also look at the executive records and discuss the way forward for the country's football.
