International humanitarian organization delivering sports and play programmes to children and youth living in disadvantaged situations, Right To Play (RTP), Tuesday certified 100 of its coach leaders as coaches.

The coach leaders who are implementers of RTP programmes in schools and communities were drawn from 34 primary and secondary schools, and six communities in the urban and rural areas of Freetown.

According to the organization's Public Relations Officer, Mohamed Sankoh, this is the first set of coaches and the first time RTP will be certifying its coach leaders in Freetown.

He further revealed that last year in Makeni, the organization certified 79 coach leaders who had been implementing the organization's activities for many years. He said these volunteers worked with partner organizations such as the Physical Health Education Teachers' Council and other non-governmental organizations.

According to Sankoh, these coach leaders are trained by RTP to run its programmes and become role models for children; train other community volunteers; learn leadership skills and jobs which create foundation for sustainable community development.
