Angola: Premier Analyses Ties With Foreign Officials

Luanda — Angolan Prime-Minister, Fernando da Piedade Dias dos Santos, Wednesday in Luanda, discussed political and economic cooperation with government representatives of Côte d'Ivoire, Sao Tome and Principe, India and Spain.

During separate meetings, the minister held talks with the ministers of Defence of Côte d'Ivoire, Foreign Affairs of Sao Tome and Principe and the ambassadors of India and Spain to Angola.

Speaking to the press at the end of the audience, the Ivorian Defence minister, N'Guessan Michel, highlighted the Angola's assistance to internal peace process of his country and pledged to gather the Angolan experience for the successful implementation of the reconciliation process.

"The country is coming out of the crisis", said N'Guessan Michel, adding that "nothing has been fully solved yet, that is why we need to learn from the Angolan experience".

On Tuesday, the West African country's minister Nguessam Amani Michel, who has been in Luanda since Monday along with his delegation, held official talks with the Angolan delegation, led by Defence minister Kundi Paihama.

In his turn, the Foreign Affairs minister of Sao Tome and Principe, Carlos Alberto Pires Tiny, said that he had discussed with the Angolan premier about his country's interest to establish a strategic partnership.

Carlos Tiny referred to a cooperation covering all sectors of the two countries' life.

Whereas the Indian ambassador to Angola, Rangaial Ghanashyam, expressed his country's interest to expand cooperation in domains of information technology and education and bringing the economic relations in the similar level to the political ones, which he considered excellent".

After recalling that both countries have cooperation in domains of transports, cement production, health and agriculture, the diplomat praised the efforts made by Angola toward the consolidation of democratic system.

Javier Vallaure, Spanish ambassador, who bid farewell to the Prime Minister, after three-year term, wished success for the next 05 September legislative elections, saying that they will bring the country's credibility and international legitimacy and contribute to the economic stability of Angola.

Javier Vallaure was appointed protocol director general of Foreign Affairs of Spain.
