Ahead of what many suspect is Biya's hidden agenda to conduct elections in 2009, a Yaounde based CPDM stalwart of Northwest origin, Prince Marcus Chicks Fomiyam, has begun campaigns in Bamenda.

Fominyam told journalists during a press lunch in Bamenda that President Biya plans for the town.According to him, Biya is planning to set up two big companies in Bamenda. He did not, however, state the kind of companies President Biya plans to build.

He called on North westerners to support Biya, whom he said, has been designated by God to rule Cameroon. He claimed that fighting against him means fighting God.He said the era of promises and distribution of money to buy consciences was over. "We want to provide employment for the unemployed"

He said he had several bakeries in Yaounde and two in Bamenda, employing a total of 60 persons.During the interchange with journalists, he called on the press to stop attacking Northwest elite in their broadcasts and publications.

Journalists, in turn, blamed politicians for under developing the province. Most of them attributed the attacks on elite and politicians to the egoism of these personalities.

Journalists also blamed government for sidelining the province in the area of development and appointments.

But the CPDM stalwart defended Biya, and tried to convince the press that the trend could only be reversed if North westerners vote for President Biya and the CPDM in future elections.
