The Delta government has disbursed N8 million to six communities affected by flood in Isoko South Local Government Area of the state.

Government's gesture was conveyed by the Commissioner for Special Duties, Chief Ross Uredi, at the presentation ceremony of the money on Wednesday in Oleh, headquarters of Isoko South Local Government.

Disbursing the money to the victims, Uredi, who was represented by Mr Peter Nkenehor, Executive Secretary State Emergency Relief Agency (SERA), urged them to make good use of the money.

He also told the beneficiaries to regard the gesture as mere relief rather than compensation for the losses incurred in the wake of the disaster.

Uredi said 933 victims benefited from the relief and that they were drawn from Emele, Uzere, Aviara, Ewhokpara, Ekregbesi and Araya communities in Delta.

Some of the beneficiaries, who spoke with journalists, lauded Gov. Emmanuel Uduaghan for coming to their aid at their points of need.
