Luanda — Angola's national senior males team of basketball conquered this Sunday the 2008 edition of the inter-continental Borislav Stankovic Cup, by beating Serbia by 68-60, in the third and last match of the competition happening in China.

The four-team tournament is to end only Monday with the match between China (Asian champions) and Russia (European champions), but the African champions win the tournament in anticipation with six points, resulting from the three victories against Russia (89-70) and China (72-71).

The Angolan squad were winning in the first half by 36-26, in a match that the shooting guard Olímpio Cipriano was the best scorer with 20 points.

This is the first time that Angola win this trophy, improving the fifth and fourth positions achieved in the first and third editions of the competition in 2005 and 2007, however in these years six teams have participated in the tournament.

The African champions did not participate in the second edition of the competition in 2006.
