Nigeria: Deliverance Service - Five More Victims Die in Abia

Umuahia — FIVE more persons, victims of the mysterious deliverance prayer session by some members of Deeper Life Church in Umuolihe, Omoba, in Isialangwa South Local Government Area of Abia State, have died, bringing the actual number of death in the ugly incident to 23.

The deaths came on the heels of the visit of a team of police forensic experts to Umuahia who had since visited the mourning community. They took necesary samples of some specimen to trace the possible cause of the deaths. The police team was led by an Assistant Commissiner of Police, Dr. Vincent Okah.

According to the Abia State Deputy Police commissioner, Mr. Ibrahim Meshaanu, who confirmed the new deaths and the visit of the forensic experts from police headquarters, Abuja, the victims have ben deposited at Abia State university Teaching Hospital (ABSUTH) mortuary in Aba. The few reamaining survivors, Meshaanu also disclosed have been transferred to the ABSUTH for treatment.

Also, the Chairman of Isialangwa Local Governemnt Area, Chief Anthony Agbazuere has disclosed that he has fumigated the community as directed by the state Government to avoid an outbreak of epidemic.

The Deputy Governor of Abia State, Comrade Chris Akomas had, during a visit to the place, directed the Council and Commissioners for Health and Environment to immediately fumigate the area to prevent possible outbreak of epidemic.
