Damaturu — Yobe state government has approved the deposit of N120 million to the National Hajj Commission of Nigeria (NAHCON) to indicate commitment for the 3,000 seats allocated to the state for this year's hajj exercise, the Commissioner for Home Affairs, Information and Culture, Alhaji Wakili A. Sarki, has said.
Sarki said the money would be used to pay for accommodation for the state's pilgrims in Makkah and Madinah, stressing that all necessary arrangements would be completed on time so that no pilgrim would be left behind during the Hajj exercise.
NAHCON had allocated an additional 500 slots to Yobe this year as against the 2,500 allocated to the state last year.
