Eritrea: Society and All Institutions Should Properly Address Youth Issues, President Isaias Underlined

In a meeting with youths inside the country and abroad who are participating in the 3rd National Youth Festival in Sawa, President Isaias Afwerki underscored that that the society, government institutions, the PFDJ and associations should properly address youths issues in view of the fact that youths are the backbone of the nation-building process.
Lauding the role and contribution of Eritrean youths at home and abroad, the President stressed the need for youths to be cautious and organized so as to enhance these role and contribution.
As regards the achievements of the Warsay-Yikaalo School in Sawa, President Isaias pointed out that contrary to the previous academic year in which only 17 students scored full mark, the number of students who scored full mark in this academic year has dramatically raised to 79. Encouraging change is now being witnessed in terms of quality, hard work and commitment of youths, he added. Noting that such outcome is the pride of the people and the nation, the President indicated that efforts are being exerted to enable the students secure scholarship opportunities so as to upgrade their educational and vocational skills.
President Isaias further called on students and the youth to step up their endeavors, and to this end the society, government institutions, the PFDJ and associations should make due contribution. He also urged the students to make good use of their time in enriching their knowledge and skills, in addition to having clear vision and programs.

The participants of the meeting on their part commended the Government's endeavors and investment in nurturing youths and asserted that they would live up to the nation's expectation.
