A first time Baba Dee Rally Cross participant, Sarjat Hans (18) registered a margin win of 20 seconds difference over a famous Arusha rally driver and organizer of the rally, David Kidawawa

(Baba Dee) . He emerged champion in a motor race held at Meserani last week.

Hans spent 9 minutes 43 seconds to cover the 30km distance leaving Kidawawa behind by only 20 seconds.

In the first leg of the rally Hans came before Kidawawa by only 2 seconds.

Though Kidawawa showed great determination in the second leg, his car engine gave him trouble that made him lose to the young rally driver.

The third position was taken by last year's winner Gamdust Haji who made a draw finish of 10 minutes 28 seconds with Denis Minja last year's second position winner.

Over 12 drivers took part in this year's event.

Hans who is a brother of another renowned driver in the country, Navraj Hans said his debut win has greatly encouraged him to go on with the sport.
