Warri — National leader of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and its former Board of Trustees (BOT) Chairman, Chief Tony Anenih, has solicited greater support for Governor Emmanuel Uduaghan of Delta State.

Anenih said such support and encouragement would go a long way in galvanizing the administration's rapid development programme for the state, which has been widely acknowledged as a well-conceived and precise transformation strategy.

He gave the advice during a private visit to Uduaghan at his Warri residence, yesterday.

The elder statesman noted that since Uduaghan has been impressive in his style of government, it behoves on Delta State PDP elders to give him their maximum and unflinching support, since "he cannot do it alone."

Anenih also advised party faithfuls who have not benefited from the party's electoral victories in the state to be patient and remain loyal to the leadership of the party.

"All of us cannot be commissioners or special advisers at the same time, with patience and dedication to the party, your chance to be rewarded will surely come," he said.

Anenih, who was accompanied by Speaker of Edo State House of Assembly, Honourable Zakawanu Garuba, described Uduaghan as "a mature governor whose achievements within barely a space of one year have made Delta State to be a reference-point at national meetings and other events of national importance."

Uduaghan described Anenih as "a great mobilizer who is still very much in touch with the grassroots."
