Having won the Sierra Leone Football Association (SLFA) elective congress for the second time in a row, Nahim Khadi has called on members of the football family to work as one in developing the game.

Khadi won 29 votes out of the 49 delegates to defeat Dr. Bangso Bangura for the second term in office at the elective congress held on Saturday.

Khadi told Concord Sports after the victory that he is ready to work with everybody for the development of the game in the country.

"Let bygones be bygones. A lot have been said about football in the country but I will make sure we all come together and work. Let's join hands and remember Mama Sierra Leone," he said.

The president further noted that having been elected as SLFA president for the second term, he will take a strong stand against footballers, especially national team players who control football affairs.

Addressing members of the congress earlier, Khadi noted that the world football governing body, FIFA's FAP funds will not cater for SLFA adequately and the development of football in Sierra Leone.

"We must impress the private sector to invest in football but it can only be done when the corporate world perceives our commitment, dedication and sincerity," he said.

Defeated vice presidential candidate, Rodney Michael told Concord Sports that they will continue to work for the development of the game adding that the passion they have for the game will not allow them to turn their backs at it.

"The congress has spoken, we appreciate the results and we are satisfied with the outcome," he said.
