Believing that every economy thrives well under a vibrant media, Coca-Cola Bottling Company of Ghana Limited has pledged to support the media in diverse ways, to ensure a free economy in Africa.

Mr. Ike Cudjoe, Public Affairs and Communications Manager of the company, said Coca-Cola was committed to support the entire Ghanaian media.

Mr. Cudjoe, however, stressed that priority would be given to the lesser-known media organizations.

The occasion was the Coca-Cola Media soiree last Friday, during which selected media practitioners interacted with key managers of the company, to foster better business and corporate relationship.

For a start, Coca-Cola intends to adopt and support the best business report of the year award, by the Ghana Journalists Association (GJA).

The prize, Cudjoe said, would include a trip outside the country, to expose the winner to global economic trends.

Mr. Cudjoe hinted that very soon Coca-Cola would add fruit juice to its product line, and penetrate the market.

According to him, Coca-Cola was currently producing Burn Energy Drink, of which the bottled brand was being produced locally.

Mr. Jacob Amegashitsi, Training Development Manager, gave the assurance that the company was very positive on quality assurance.

He said having existed for 120 years, and operating in Ghana since 1956, Coca-Cola would keep the brand value intact.

Nana Yaw Osei, acting Regional Chairman of the GJA, thanked the company on behalf of the journalists, for the recognition of the media as a partner in business.

He hoped the relationship would grow into the future, and be beneficial to both sides.
