Lagos — Olympic Marseille defender Taye Taiwo may have won his battle with his French club and he was due to arrive the Dream Team's South Korea camp last night along with Lokomotiv Moscow forward Osaze Odemwingie.
NFA Assistant Secretary General Mohammed Sanusi said that the duo had called to inform officials of their expected arrival.
"We are awaiting the arrival of two prominent Dream Team IV players, Taye Taiwo and Osaze Odemwingie who called to inform us of their arrival on Monday," Sanusi disclosed.
However, the situation of Getafe's Ike Uche and Hapoel Tel Aviv goalkeeper Vincent Enyeama remains uncertain, according to Sanusi.
"The only snag in the Dream Team's preparations is the non-release so far of two prominent players of the team Ikechukwu Uche and goalkeeper Vincent Enyeama.
"We are still fighting hard to secure the release of these players but it looks very dicey and uncertain if these foreign clubs would release them. But we have not lost hope.
"The coach is fully aware of this and I think he is mapping out other strategies to ensure that he is not taken by surprise.
"All things being equal we will surely have a fulfilling competition at the Olympics," Sanusi told KickOffNigeria.com from the teams training camp in South Korea on Sunday.
Both players will be involved in a training game tomorrow with the rest of the squad.
An earlier scheduled game against a local club side was called off after the club complained of a rash of injuries.
