Gambia: Lucky Winners Hit D152,500 At GNL

Four lucky winners were paid at the Gambian National Lottery's Office in Banjul on 13 June, 2008. One of the four lucky winners was Yusupha Jatta, who won the Monday 'Quarte Jackpot' of D30, 000, the three other lucky winners are Baisa Saho, Momodou Njie and the third name whose is withheld won D152, 500 each for the 'Quinte jackpot'.

In his welcoming remarks, the Managing Director of Gambia National Lottery, Mr. Dembo Fanta Bojang, said the Marketing Manager should have chaired this presentation ceremony but that he is on a mission in Dakar as they are trying to improve on their programme delivery. He said that they are now getting the programme clearly through e-mail instead of fax. Mr. Bojang said that Jammeh's trip is also to get the latest IT program from their sister collaborating company in Dakar; that this they can provide by internet, but because there is electric interruption in Dakar, this is what causes the delay in the transmission of this program to them; that the availability this program will help improve their service for the customers.

The cheques were presented to the winners by the Manager and that one of the winners Mr. Saho said he is glad to win since he has been playing the game for a long time now, and that he is a family man.
