Angola: Football -Under-20 Squad Test Against Benfica De Luanda

Luanda — Angola's under-20 males national football team face this Tuesday afternoon, in Luanda's Cidadela Stadium, the senior team of Benfica de Luanda, in a preparation match for the southern African countries soccer tournament (Cosafa Cup), to be disputed from 26 July to 03 August, 2008, in Mpumalanga City in South Africa.

After having lost the qualification for the African Nations Championship (CAN/2009) of this category, the Angolan junior squad (Palanquinhas) will represent Angola's senior males national football team in this regional tournament dedicated to the southern African countries of the continent.

Speaking to ANGOP this Tuesday, coach Romeu Filemon said the match will serve to correct some mistakes in the offensive and defensive sectors.

"We are going to try and use all the players in order to check the athletes' technical level and improve strategies", said the manager.

Romeu Filemon works with the following players: Rubia and Titi (Goal keepers) Oseias, Mano and Kikas Hélder, Pataca, Pedrinha, Samuel, Miguel, Major (defenders), Amarildo, Dito, Arsénio, Day Day, Dany, Júlio Djemba, Beto, Edson (midfielders), Vítor, Lelas, Bebucho, Lito, Careca and Mário (strikers).

The travel to the venue of the tournament is set for next Thursday morning.
