Angolan minister of Assistance and Social Welfare, João Baptista Kussumua, Monday laid the foundation stone for the construction of regional centre for sheltering, education, teaching and social insertion of abandoned children at Kaboxa locality, northern Bengo province.

With six compartments and providing several services, the centre will have the capacity to shelter some 1,000 children, including 250 boarders, from the provinces of Malanje, Kwanza Norte and Uíge.

It also comprises 26 class rooms, a gym-sports field, recreational and administrative site, library and a health centre.

The works, whose cost was not revealed, are in charge of the building company, "Brick Ay Brick".
