APR's Abbas Rassou and Boubakary Saddou have returned to Kigali amidst the ongoing Cecafa/Kagame club championship in Dar es Salaam, Tanzania.
The Cameroonian-born pair returned in the country to finalize arrangements to travel for professional trials in Morocco and Spain respectively, club president Brig. Gen. Alex Kagame confirmed to Times Sport yesterday.
"Abbas is returning to his Moroccan club (Olympique Khouribga) while Saddou is going for trials with a Spanish first division club," Kagame said but without naming the club.
He noted, "Abbas was recalled from his club to help us (APR) in our bid to defend the Kagame Cup but since the coach is interested in using him, it is fair to let him return to his club."
Rassou, who was at one time rated the best striker in the country, failed to impress Rene Feller, who has not used him in Dar es Salaam despite the military side's attack failing to get goals.
The Cameroonian striker has struggled to impress at Morocco's premier league club Olympique Khouribga, a club he joined this season after another unsuccessful short spell at Hungarian first division club, VTK Diosgyor.
In two seasons, Rassou helped APR to five titles; including the 2005/6 and 2006/7 national league titles, Lotto Cup, Cecafa/Kagame Cup and Amahoro Cup. Both Rassou and Saddou joined APR back in 2005 from one of soccer academies in Cameroon at the time when former Cameroon U-23 coach Jean Paul Akono was in charge of the club.

According to Kagame, Saddou whose contract runs out next month will be heading to Spain for trials with a yet to be known Spanish La Liga club.
