The inhabitants of Shanono Local Government Area (LGA) of Kano State will soon have cause to smile, as the council's Chairman; Alhaji Suleiman Danjuma Shanono has reiterated a pledge to provide social amenities in the area for rapid development.

Speaking to journalists in Kano, the council chairman explained that his council has awarded a road contract from Shanono town to Tsaure, adding that the work has already progressed and will soon be completed within its stipulated time.

Shanono also disclosed that his council has purchased a KVH power generating machine, aimed at providing potable drinking water at Shanono town; stressing that work has also gone far.

On education, the local government boss explained that his council has set aside a total of N2m every month geared towards providing scholarship to students of higher learning in the area.

He said the socio-economic activities in the area need to be enhanced, as such; the local council has planned to construct 22 corner shops that will be spread across the 10 wards of the area.

The chairman called for cooperation and continued support from people of the area to enable the council achieve its desired objectives.

According to him, no society will progress without the required cooperation and support from its teeming populace. He stressing that his council was determined to impact positively by boosting development of the area and moving its people forward.
