Christian Perrin, the news director of privately-owned Télé Pour Tous (TPT), was arrested on 21 July in Pointe-Noire (Congo's second largest city) and was held for several hours at the Directorate for Territorial Surveillance (DST). He was taken before a prosecutor yesterday and released after being charged with "inciting public violence" in connection with the latest edition of his regular Sunday programme "Franc parler," to which he invited two opposition members. Perrin is to appear before the prosecutor again tomorrow.
