Zambia/South Africa: Mbesuma Leaving Turkey Tonight

21 July 2008

Former Kaizer Chiefs' Zambian striker Collins Mbesuma is finally expected in South Africa tomorrow morning (Tuesday) from Istanbul, Turkey.

In an exclusive interview this afternoon, Mbesuma's Zambian manager Nathan Chanda disclosed to KickOff.com's Matimba Nkonje in Lusaka, that the player will fly from Istanbul this evening at 21h45 hours and is expected in Johannesburg at around 07h00 tomorrow.

I can confirm to you that he has even moved out of the house where he was staying near the Istanbul airport. He's on a direct flight from Istanbul

Asked why Mbesuma failed to show up last week as was earlier announced, Chanda said the former Amakhosi man who was been linked with a move to Mamelodi Sundowns had 'serious personal issues' to sort out before coming down to South Africa.

"Mbesuma is starting off tonight at 21h45 hours, his flight has been confirmed. The reason why he could not come to South Africa as earlier announced was because he had personal reasons which I cannot divulge to you," Chanda said.

He added that Mbesuma is expected to connect to Zambia on Wednesday after meeting his agent Mike Makaab tomorrow.

"I can't say much now as where or which team he is joining, but I can confirm to you that he has even moved out of the house where he was staying near the Istanbul airport. He's on a direct flight from Istanbul."

Mbesuma has been clubless since Turkish Super League side Bursapor released him earlier this year.
