Eritrea: Result of School Leaving Certificate Exams Disclosed

Sawa — The result of the School Leaving Certificate Exams for the 2007/2008 academic year has been disclosed at the Warsay-Yikaalo School in Sawa.

Accordingly, a total of 1,423 students scored marks that enable them to pursue degree course and another 1,627 for diploma course.

In this year's exams, 79 students, out of whom 18 are females scored full mark, and that this performance increased by about 400% compared to last year.

In briefings he gave to the students, the Minister of Education, Mr. Semere Russom, stated that the Government is doing its level best to expand educational opportunities and called on students to strive for greater achievement. Indicating that scholarship is being offered to promote the development of education, the Minister pointed out that over 33 instructors who have been serving in different colleges for many years would be sent abroad to pursue M.A and PH.D courses.
