Platinum Stars are on the verge of signing Mozambican defender Almiro Lobo from Bidvest Wits.

Stars' official Thierry Mulonzo has confirmed to KickOff.com that Lobo has agreed to join the team for the new season and is set to meet with club CEO Larry Brookstone before the end of this week to finalise personal terms.

Meanwhile, the Tycoons are set to jet off to Tunisia to tonight where they will face CS Sfaxien in the return leg of their CAF Confederation Cup game this week.

Stars threw away a 2-0 lead in Rustenburg a fortnight ago allowing the North African cup holders to scramble to a 2-all draw.

Mulonzo disclosed that Stars will still be without the services of injured Daniel Tshabalala for the trip to Tunisia. 'Sailor' is suffering from an ankle injury.
