Nairobi — The term of the commission set up to investigate the post- election chaos has been extended by a month.
Members of the National Dialogue and Reconciliation team, who met on Wednesday at Serena Hotel, resolved to give the team one more month.
The commission headed by Appellate Judge Justice Philip Waki had sought an extension of two months for it to conclusively undertake its mandate.
Extension
The team had three months to complete the investigations.
And on Wednesday, Agriculture Minister William Ruto, a member of the mediation talks, said they believed the commission's task would be completed by granting them a one month extension.
The meeting, also attended by Cabinet ministers Martha Karua, James Orengo, Prof Sam Ongeri and Dr Sally Kosgei, will reconvene on Tuesday next week to finalise on Agenda four.
