Super Eagles striker, Osaze Odemwingie will join the rest of Dream Team players on Saturday even as coach Samson Siasia yesterday released the names of the 22 players he is banking on for glory in Beijing, China.

With the final list of players named after the team's first tune up match against local Korean side FC Busan yesterday, only Odemwingie, who stared for the Super Eagles at the last African Nations Cup in Ghana in February is the only over aged player selected for the Olympic campaign.

The player, we can confirm was at the Korean embassy in Russia yesterday where all the relevant papers have been forwarded to the embassy to facilitate issuance of his visa.

"Osaze will join us on Saturday he has already discussed his travel plans with the technical officials. He told them that he will jet in via Aeroflot (Russia Airline) early Saturday morning and will be part of the training later in the day," an official told us on the phone from Seoul yesterday.

It was also learnt that Siasia had actually given up on having the other over aged players available as soon as their clubs started raising dust about releasing them for Olympics.

Ikechukwu Uche and Vincent Enyeama, the two over aged players wanted by Siasia, have already laid the blame for their inability to make the trip to Beijing on the doorsteps of the Nigeria Football Association (NFA), claiming the Glass House erred by not getting clearance from their clubs on time.

The four alternate players selected are goalkeeper Daniel Akpeyi, Olufemi Oladapo, Bernard Okorowanta and Solomon Abwo.

The Super Falcons team list was returned to the coaches after 24 players were named in the squad, instead of 22.

Siasia has also forwarded his list to national team kit suppliers, adidas so that they can label the jerseys the players will wear in Beijing.

Meanwhile, all the dropped players are to remain in camp till the Dream Team Nigerian finally leaves for Beijing on August 2. This is to enable the coaches have enough players to train with ahead of their departure.

"NFA has no plan to send all the dropped players packing because all the facilities that is been put into use in Korea have been paid for till the end of the month. Besides they will still be useful for training purposes," the official said.
