After successful hosting of the FA Cup final early this month, the people of Makurdi in Benue State are in for more ecstatic football moments, with the Super Cup and Nigeria Football Association (NFA) Annual General Meeting 2008, (AGM) coming to them from today.

Reports coming out of Makurdi, the seat of Lobi Stars indicated that the people are grateful to the club's chairman, Governor Gabriel Suswan and his vice, Dominic Iorfa for bringing the FA Cup to the state and now the Super Cup and NFA AGM.

A release issued by Iorfa through Lobi Stars media officer, Bestman Joji stated that adequate preparations are in place to host the double header, stressing that Gov. Suwan is elated to host the stakeholders.

"Great things are happening in Benue state as far as football is concerned. It is painful that Lobi will not be campaigning on the continent next season, so football activities will be limited to local championships. But we are committed to the cause of serving the people and teeming football fans, who stand by us in the rain and sunshine, even when we did not win a laurel.

"We were honoured for the host of the FA Cup final early this month and the people of Nigeria can testify to it that Benue people are good hosts. They came out en-masse to honour Ocean Boys and Gombe United. To maintain the rhythm and sustain the excitement, the Super Cup between league winners, Kano Pillars and FA Cup winners, Ocean Boys will hold in Makurdi tomorrow, but before then, the NFA AGM will start today. It is an opportunity to showcase the passion of the people for the game and to also display their hospitality towards visitors."

Earlier on, NFA chairman Sani Lulu Abdulahi said the board is impressed by the way the people of Benue welcome the FA Cup final in Makurdi, stating that it was one of the best finals of the competition in the recent times. He also commended the state for the facilities put in place at the Aper Aku stadium.
