Luanda's provincial government on Wednesday reaffirmed that the musical legacy of Teta Lando "will represent a reflection and a tonic for the hard task of preserving and valuing the arts, culture and identity of Angolans".

On a condolence message, delivered to ANGOP on Wednesday, Luanda government adds that with Teta Lando's death "a voice of Angolannes has been muted, a man that was a pillar of the Angolan popular musical culture".

"Throughout his career, Teta Lando embraced and participated in cultural projects, giving his contribution to the development process of the Angolan and African culture in general", states the document.

Teta Lando died on July 14, in Paris, victim of a cancer. His remains were buried on Wednesday at Luanda's Alto das Cruzes Cemetery.
