Liberia: Vice President Boakai Lauds Liberian Trade And Medical Mission

The Vice President of Liberia Joseph N. Boakai has lauded the visiting U.S based Liberian Trade and Medical Mission for its initiative to help war-torn Liberia.
"This is the first time a group of people is coming to Liberia to say what can I do for Liberia," Vice President Boakai observed.
Vice President Boakai made the commendation Wednesday when a 15-member Trade and Medical delegation from Atlanta, Georgia in the United States, paid a courtesy call on him at his Capitol Building office.
The delegation which includes executive board members of the National Coalition of Black Women, business persons, investors, medical practitioners, the Liberian Association of Metropolitan Atlantic, is in the country for humanitarian purposes and trade and investment exploration.
He said following years of mindless destruction, Liberia was at the crossroads, and would appreciate any assistance in the key areas of health education and economic empowerment.
Vice President Boakai observed that major business enterprises in Liberia are currently controlled by non-Liberians, and that the Ellen Johnson Sirleaf-led government's goal is to see Liberians take control of their economy, adding, "President Sirleaf likes to see success stories shared with the involvement of women".
The Liberian Trade and Medical Mission was organized by the U.S based National Coalition of 100 Black Women , Metropolitan Atlanta Chapter.
The goal of the trade and medical mission is to buttress President Ellen Johnson Sirleaf's efforts to rebuild war-ton Liberia.

Development efforts of the mission, according to the head of the delegation Cynthia Nash, will focus on the health, education, economic development and trade.
