Angola: Polling Stations Members Begin Training Monday

24 July 2008

Luanda — At least 271,053 members of voting stations will start on Monday, a week-long training countrywide, ahead of September 05 legislative elections, announced a source with the National Electoral Commission (CNE).

The training is to last six weeks in Luanda and four weeks in other 17 provinces of the country.

Meanwhile, CNE intends to train weekly an average of 59,000 members of voting stations countrywide.

After the training, participants will receive one manual each in order to help them in their activities, once it comprises instructions relating to stations' functioning.

At least 36 people have already been trained at national level, where 342 others representing, all the provinces, were also trained. Currently there are 3,078 municipal trainers.
