Angola: Pan-African Youth Prepare Congress in Congo Brazzaville

Luanda — The chairperson of the Pan-African Youth Union (PYU), the Angolan Manquento Sebastião Lopes, has already arrived in Brazzaville, Republic of Congo to prepare the conditions for the holding of the organisation's second congress set for July 29 and August 01, Angop has learnt.

The meeting was expected to take place in Luanda, Angola, but due to the preparation of the September 05 legislative elections it has been transferred to neighbouring country.

Initially set for last June 29, in Congo Brazzaville, it was also altered due to the local elections.

Delegates to the congress will focus on dynamism and reinforcement of young people capacity, meant to adapt to the new demands and political, economic, social realities of Africa, through the adoption of the organisation's new statutes, since October 2003.

It previous denomination was Pan African Youth Movement (PYM).
