Crown Beverages, producers of Mirinda and Pepsi products has clarified that winning crowns (bottle tops) for the company's ongoing promotion must bear the word Chamuka.

This comes after 'Wahi' crowns, designed for an ongoing Kenyan promotion, found their way in the Uganda market. The company's marketing manager, Ms Aggie Konde, urged the public to disregard any crowns without the word Chamuka irrespective of any amounts of prizes written underneath.

Speaking during a press conference at the bottler's offices in Nakawa, Ms Konde said Metal Crowns Limited, a company that supplies crowns to her company sent crowns that were not meant for the company.

She said there have been incidents in which consumers got Wahi crowns and took them to Crown beverages claiming for prizes. "The Wahi crowns have 'Match and Win' while Chamuka crowns have what you see is what you win," Ms Konde said.
