Moses Kibet and Doreen Chesang are among the six athletes to represent Uganda in the third edition of the Commonwealth Youth Championships set for October 12-18 in Pune, India.

The local athletics federation named a team of six for the games while Uganda Table Tennis Association also named three competitors for the event.

According to the Uganda Athletics Federation (UAF) secretary Beatrice Ayikoru, Kibet and Chesang were chosen after their participation at the recent World Junior Championships in Poland. Chesang finished 16th in the 3000m final while Kibet failed to come out of his 1500m heats at the event held early this month.

They will be joined by young sprinter Ramadhan Akula and middle distance runners Alex Cherop, Dickson Huru and Juliet Chekwel.
