It was a spirited show at the Zanzibar international Film Festival, when the obsessions threw the crowd at Ngome Kongwe - Old Fort in Stone Town, Zanzibar in a frenzy.

The festival which is characterised by watching and critiquing movies by filmmakers from all over the world winds up with music performances.

The organisers chose the best performers from South Africa, zimbabwe, Comoros Islands, Kenya and Uganda.

And so from Uganda the performers were the Obsessions. When the announcement was made on Saturday night before their performance, the crowd gave such a shout gas if a revolutionary leader had dropped from heaven.

The ululations, clapping and whistling was deafening. But the girls did not appear until 12:30am. Unlike the previous two nights, the crowd had not given up. In fact after every performance all evening, the crowd shouted; Obsessions!

When they finally appeared, they put up such a show of vocals and gyrations that the crowd was not disappointed.

The performance wrapped up the night's show at 1:25 when the divas sent flying kisses to the crowd and walked back stage, sweating and panting.
