Cecafa have opted not to punish APR Fc despite claims in the Tanzanian press that their players were involved in an off-field scuffle that left two Tanzanian journalists injured after their quarter-final defeat in Simba of the ongoing Kagame cup in Dar es Salaam.
But last year's losing finalist, URA beat APR's conquerors Simba 1-0 to book a place in Sunday's final against either Yanga or Tusker, who meet in today's second semi-final.
Tanzania's Daily News Online on Wednesday reported that APR irate players (names not mentioned) attacked journalists soon after their 2-0 loss to the home side, Simba, injuring two of them including the paper's photographer Yusuf Badi.
However, Cecafa media spokesman Finny Keshi told Times Sport yesterday by telephone from Dar es Salaam that the outgoing regional club champions won't be punished for Tuesday's incident.
"It was just a minor incident that erupted immediately after the match no Cecafa rule was violated.
"I think these journalists wanted some comments from APR players which would not be possible due to grief encountered by the players at that moment," Keshi stated.
Before confirming that no one (not even the said journalists) was injured in the process and that the reports of injured journalists are baseless.
APR played with one man down for the biggest part of the match after Kenyan referee Caleb Amway sent off goalkeeper Aime Ndizeye for fouling goal-bound Mgosi outside his area..
Eric Obua scored a 113th minute winner after the normal 90 minutes had ended goalless.

Simba's Nigerian striker Emeh Izuchukwu had his penalty on the 29th minute saved by URA keeper Abbey Dharia.
