Lubango

The French ambassador to Angola, Francis Blondet, said Thursday in Lubango that his country will soon invest in the southern Huila Province in the sectors of telecommunications, agriculture, geology, mining, and education, in the framework of the existing co-operation between the two countries.

Speaking to the press at the end of a meeting with Huila Province governor, Francisco José Ramos da Cruz, the French diplomat said that his country will invest in the sectors of telecommunications through the telephone companies Alcatel and Dareda, as well as in the acquisition of fertilisers for agriculture.

Francis Blondet added that another project will be implemented in the domain of geology and mining, since France has a great potential in uranium exploration and other minerals.

For the education sector, the diplomat informed that his government will continue to train Angolan cadres in the French language, through the "Alliançe Française" school and reinforce the supply of didactic materials.

He announced that French entrepreneurs have already manifested their wish to invest in Huila Province.

"The French government is committed to seeing the development of Angola ( ), so we have a vast programme turned to the productive and economic sectors", stressed the ambassador.
