Mozambican defender Almiro 'Miro' Lobo has signed a three-year deal with Platinum Stars, completing his surprise move from BidVest Wits.

Stars have agreed to make a payment to Wits to buy Lobo, who was still under contract at Wits until June next year.

"The deal was completed on this week, paving the way for Lobo to become a Stars player," reveals Thabo Moloto, the player's manager.

However, the 26-year-old will only start training with Miguel Gamondi's side upon their return from Tunisia, where they play CS Sfaxien in the return leg of the CAF Confederations Cup this weekend.

Currently Lobo is with the Mozambican national team in camp ahead of their Cosafa Senior Challenge match against Botswana on Sunday.

Prior to the two clubs agreeing on the transfer figure, Lobo had already agreed terms with Stars.

Though he was a regular last season at the Students, the left-back has been sacrificed to open up foreign space for the three new Brazilians that Wits have signed.

Besides the three Brazilians, new Zimbabwean goalkeeper Energy Murambadoro and Cameroon midfielder Bienvenu Tipa are the two other foreigners completing the Students' foreign quota.

Lobo was signed by Boebie Solomons in January 2007.
