Barely three months from now, hockey will take the centre stage in Nigeria's capital, Abuja, for this year's Africa Clubs championship.

And beginning October 16-20, some of the continent's finest will converge and battle for supremacy in the club championship.

This year's showpiece, according to the Secretary General of the Africa Hockey Federation(AHF), Nii Quaye Kumah, will be special considering the fact that it will serve as a World Cup qualifier to be staged in Barcelona, in January next year.

In all, four European champion clubs are expected, while two champions each will be expected from other countries for the Madrid showdown.
