Liberia: Bill Clinton Arrives This Week

29 July 2008

Former United States President, Bill Clinton, is expected in the country Saturday for one day visit. This marks his second visit to the country since the sitting of the Ellen-led administration.

Presidential Press Secretary, Cyrus Badio told reporters yesterday that the former President will hold discussions with President Ellen Johnson Sirleaf as well as other stakeholders in the country.

Besides, he will hold a press conference before departing during his visit to Liberia.

He is coming to enforce his initiative against the deadly disease AIDS, which he began since leaving office about seven years ago.

Clinton, who is regarded as the most revered president of the US in the 21st Century, will use his trip to appeal against the high price for drugs. He has been campaigning across Africa, Europe, Asia and other places for international attention for AIDS victims.

The writer states that Bill Clinton “… is regarded as the most revered president of the US in the 21st Century”; this is a most egregious error. The only ones who revere him are the extreme left wing liberals. In case the writer missed it, Clinton was impeached, one of only two presidents in the history of the United States to undergo this. As far as the (actual) most revered president of the 20th century, I would postulate that it is virtual tie between Presidents Franklin Delano Roosevelt (1933-1945) and Ronald Wilson Reagan (1981-1989).

Bill Clinton was revered by left wingers, swingers and high rolling contributors. To most of us that worked for the US Govt he was a huge joke. He cheated at everything he did and when he had "truck stop sex" with the young ladies in his employ, he lost all credibility in the eyes of the military and law enforcement and most Christian citizens in this country. Beware Liberia....you never know what gifts Bill Clinton is bearing.

I am a Liberian living in the USA.By the way, I am working for the US Government, too. I really dont care about what Clinton did in his private life during his presidency. His wife, as far as I am aware, has forgiven him and they are seemingly living happier lives. Bill Clinton, is a compassionate person. He said the role of politics is to give people the tools they need to help themselves. Let us give credit where credit is due, instead of advocating "truck stop sex", which is irrelevent in this discussion. Get over it; his wife has!

Some people are over zealous to react to someone's article to the point that they miss the point. Is carperpex saying that president Bill Clinton was impeached or there was an attempted impeachment on him during his presidency? If former president Bill Clinton was impeached then why did he complete his presidency? Carperpex needs to ellaborate well on these questions for the benefit of us who do not know the american history and policy.

For garmack, et al: As used here, the word ‘impeach’ implies that the president was charged with violating the law (perjury to a grand jury and obstruction of justice) by the House of Representatives. He was then put on trial before the Senate. He was not convicted, so he served out his term. There is a fairly good article (or more?) defining this term at http://www.answers.com/topic/impeachment.

(I might note that I have never met anyone that believes that Clinton told the truth. He deeply embarrassed and humiliated our nation. All would do well to heed the warning by txbobsplace5.) Be well, friend.

Those of you who are condeming and or trashing Bill Clinton should stop! He may not be the Holy Pope or the Mighty Angle of the most High, (therefore, he is subject to temptation like any of other person)but he was and still the most admired ex-president due to his excellence economic policy. Many people (including the so-called right-wings) and the world as a whole benefited from his administration. As far as I can record, he is the only ex-American president who has taken upon himself to fight for the cause (aids) that has taken so many innocent lives. Whether you like him personally or not, give him the credit for what has done and is still doing. Those of so-called right wings, holly Mary, etc. as you called yourselves, when was the last time you lend your hand or donated your time to HIV positive or Aids victims?

Look, we shoud stop degrading those who have felt our needs and have come to aid. Espcially, those of you who are just good at running your lips and pretending to be what you are not. Before you start trashing anyone, make sure you have something better to offer. All you so-called right wings, holy jungle, who have never looked at another woman beside your wife and or girlfriend, hold your peace and let God judge the sinners.

STOP THE TRASH TALKING AND BE GRATEFUL TO THOSE WHO ARE HELPING YOUR COUNTRY AND YOUR PEOPLE!
