Baring any unforeseen circumstances, a new game- 'Winner Football Pools 1x2', intended to generate money to develop football in the country will be launched.
The game will get underway together with the start of next season's premier league, which is expected to kick off in October.
The former Ghana Football Association(GFA) chairman, Nana Sam Brew Butler, who stood in for the GFA at a press conference, extolled the benefits of the new game and what Ghanaian teams would derive from it.
"The idea for this concept is to generate money from its own products to bless the sports, it is done worldwide and it has worked perfectly.
"I am talking about generating as much as $1.3million for Manchester United from this game, we could do this in other ways but we believe in using the state of the art technology to ensure credibility and transparency," he added.
He said the realisation is what has stirred the FA and Pinbridge to put resources together in order to generate money to develop Ghana football.
Hezi Makmal of Pinbridge, gave the assurance that all is about set to begin operation of the game. He stated that agents from Accra, Tema and other regional capitals have expressed keen interest and would be brought on board for the online game.
Already, the game, Winner 1x2, which is put together by Pinbridge Ltd., in collaboration with the GFA, will see prospective players predicting the outcome of 12 football matches from various football leagues including teams from Ghana, Africa, Europe and other International countries.
Match list will be available at all Winner Agents and in the local media.
Matches on the list will be scheduled for kick off at the end of the week in which the list will be published on weekends. Interested persons can play Winner 1x2 up to 15 minutes before kick-off time on the match list, after acquiring a standard play coupon with eight play boards marked board 1 to board eight, which will be played up to eight boards on any one coupon.
At stake are great prizes for those who predict results correctly. Predicting 12 correct results qualifies one to hit jackpot, 11, 10 and nine corrects places players for second, third and fourth positions respectively.
