Uganda: Bikes for LCs

Kampala — Community development officers and LC3 chairpersons in Nakasongola district have received motorcycles worth over sh19m from the central Government.

The district chairperson, James Wandera, said the motorcycles would solve the transport problem that has been hindering the officials from carrying out routine monitoring of development activities.

He warned the beneficiaries against using the motorcycles for their private work as this would interfere with the district programmes.

Wandera said the district would also arrest people involved in catching and buying immature fish, which activities, he said, led to a decline in revenue collection.
