Angola: Bishop Considers Compulsory Disarming Essential for Elections

Luanda — Luanda's Catholic church's assistant bishop, Anastácio Cahango, Wednesday in Luanda considered compulsory disarming of civilians as important so that the September 5 legislative elections take place in an environment of peace and tranquillity, Angop learnt.

Speaking to Angop, the church man said there is need for keeping the population's security, mainly in Luanda, to avoid fear and trouble on the mind of citizens, due to the electoral stage the country is going through.

The bishop also called as it is a moral task and a positive action, showing respect for the laws in force in the country.
