South Africa/Cameroon: Enoh Will Not Be Joining Pompey

31 July 2008

Ajax Cape Town's Eyong Enoh will not be joining Portsmouth, who are currently in the country on their pre-season tour.

The Cameroonian, who is fresh from a try-out in Israel with Maccabi Haifa, trained with the FA Cup winners on Tuesday, sparking rumours that he was on trial with the English Premiership side.

However, Portsmouth manager Harry Redknapp revealed that the Urban Warriors' midfielder will not be joining the club.

"He won't get into the country unfortunately," Redknapp told the club's official website.

"To get into England you need to have played 75 percent of the recent games for your country and I am sure he hasn't done that."
