Daylon Claasen has impressed Ajax Amsterdam trainer Adrie Koster during their 4-0 loss over Sparta yesterday.
The former Ajax Cape Town midfielder played the full 90 minutes, while former Urban Warriors' teammate Stanton Lewis played only in the second half.
"He [Claasen] played well, showed lots of initiative and is strong on the ball. He left a very positive impression," Koster told the club's official website.
Claasen signed a four-year deal with Ajax Amsterdam last year, but the deal only became active last month.
The reason for this is that Claasen, who is a non-European union member, only becomes eligible to sign a professional contract in Europe after he turns 18 in January 2008. This is according to a Fifa ruling.
