Kosta Papic says he will cut his tall list of players at Accra Hearts of Oak to twenty seven as he seeks to improve on the club's performance from last season.
The Phobians have one of the biggest squads in Ghana with over forty players on their books and have only recently been looking at potential materials for their side next season.
I have identified a few quality players and I believe we only need to work on their mental approach and tactical discipline to get the best out of them
The exercise generated huge interest amongst would-be Hearts of Oak players but those players and those already on the books of the club would have to dig deeper to catch the attention of the Serbian.
"I would keep a 27-man squad for the coming League season because I believe it should be enough to get the results if all the players would work according to specific instructions," he told Hearts News.
"Some would differ on this but I think it is the best situation for the club. It means the players must work hard to get in and that can only be good for the club. It has worked for me before so I hope it would work once again to perfection."
Papic's job at Hearts is huge. The Phobians were poor last season finishing eighth, their lowest in over fifteen years of the Professional League.
But Papic is in upbeat mood after spending a week with the squad. "I have identified a few quality players and I believe we only need to work on their mental approach and tactical discipline to get the best out of them to produce the desired results next season."
