Militants, sympathizers and friends of Unita on Tuesday held in northern Uije province an automobile stroll, marking the start of the electoral campaign, in an act led by the deputy president of the main opposition party, Ernesto Mulato.

During the act, about 300 Unita militants were singing and chanting words relating to national reconciliation.

The militants distributed pamphlets, hats, in an act that was also witnessed by UNITA Members of Parliament representing northern Uije province and members of the national secretariat.

On the occasion, Ernesto Mulato praised the speech addressed by the President of the Republic, José Euardo dos Santos, on Tuesday in which the Angolan Statesman called on the population and politicians to behave with civic attitudes, during the electoral campaign.
