Uganda: ICC Indictments Promote Peace And Reduce Abuses

Kampala — On July 14, the International Criminal Court (ICC) Prosecutor requested for an arrest warrant for President Bashir on charges of genocide, crimes against humanity and war crimes committed in Darfur.

Charges comprise killing members of the Zaghawa, Masalit and Fur ethnic groups, inflicting life conditions calculated to cause ethnic destruction, intentionally attacking civilian populations, torture and rape.
